--Keep in mind that Subject and Genre fields use controlled terms. If you are unsure of the exact Library of Congress term for a subject, try using a single keyword or phrase and selecting "contains" in the Search Type field.

As the Cinefiles database is now in a development phase, the number of documents currently available is limited. Retrospective indexing has been completed for film title files at the beginning of the alphabet, for documents describing Soviet silent films from PFA's collection, and for documents pertaining to selected directors whose works have been featured in PFA series. Brief authority records for over 25,000 films, including title, director, country, and year, are also currently available. New titles and document images are added daily, so if your search today brings no results, you may wish to try again after a few weeks.
